Manager, Process Systems Engineering

This position reports to the Director, Process and Civil Engineering.

This role will be based in Mississauga, ON.

Your role within the team:

  • Support the objectives of the Process and Civil Engineering Division.
  • Manage forecasted staffing levels to meet project and department needs.
  • Prepare and deliver training and development plans that support knowledge transfer and skills proficiency.
  • Implement strategic initiatives that improve department and business performance.
  • Own and implement department action plans.
  • Provide technical support to projects on emergent issues.
  • Support business development activities.
  • Interface with customers to foster strong relationships.
  • Drive innovation.

The ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Nuclear Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Over ten (10) years of combined technical and supervisory / management experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in a Canadian Province or eligible within one year of hire.
  • Security Clearance with Public Services and Procurement Canada is a condition of employment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and sound people management skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to implementing a strong safety culture.
  • Experience managing a unionized workforce is an asset.
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to interface with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders (peers, clients, suppliers, Authority Having Jurisdiction).
  • Ability to network and build relationships with an eye on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Working knowledge of Process Systems Design and Control, and related analysis and design software.
  • Working knowledge of CANDU nuclear plant design, operation and maintenance is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of nuclear industry codes and standards.
  • Manage a team of 20-30 Process Systems Engineers.
  • Performance manage staff, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and coaching and performance enhancement.
  • Focus on talent management, including career development, knowledge transfer, and succession planning.
  • Familiarity with nuclear quality management systems.
