We are seeking a Senior Business Development Director – Remote.  This remote position is based out of our Oak Ridge, TN office.

How will you contribute to the team?  

  • Responsible for supporting business development activities including identifying, evaluating and capturing new opportunities and establishing relationships with potential customers and partners. 

  • Informs customers and partners of products and services that fit well with customer business needs. 

  • The focus of this role is to support business development efforts in the Department of Energy and Department of Defense and support the organization in growing the business into other new markets. 

  • Provides ongoing support to high value customers. 

  • Participates in strategic development of AtkinsRealis US Nuclear Technical & Field Services.

  • Monitors, gathers, and leads the analysis of competitive intelligence and stay informed of the federal research and development landscape and federal agency funding priorities, focusing on positioning AtkinsRealis for growth.

  • Supports federal capture activities by helping to develop Gate Review briefings, pipeline analyses, gap analyses, value propositions, etc. 

  • Performs quantitative and qualitative research for federal opportunity pipelines and maintain CRM with most up-to-date information. 

  • Identifies new business opportunities through customer and industry contacts.

  • Reports to the Senior Director of Business Development – Energy and Defense and assists with the growth strategy for assigned markets (i.e., in the US government such as DOE, DOD, and commercial customers etc.) 

  • Uses creativity and strong communication skills to effectively summarize information and deliver fresh insights to our internal teams and leadership.

  • Builds successful business relationships by delivering a value proposition that is attractive to both customers and prospective business partners.

  • Develops, maintains and builds a strong professional network and customer relationships.

  • Coordinates company resources in the pursuit and capture of new work.

  • Helps to develop capture plans for specific targets that address opportunities, preferred approaches, competitive analyses and business fundamentals.

  • Helps to identify teaming partners, develops teaming agreements and obtains appropriate internal support and approvals.

  • Understands, in broad terms, customer contracts and business planning activities. Engages corporate resources (e.g., Contracts, Legal and Procurement managers) to ensure contract terms and conditions are appropriately handled.

  • Communicates and engages company technical experts and Operations personnel to develop solutions to customer challenges.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What will you contribute?  

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or a Relevant Discipline.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of federal business development analytics / industry-related experience.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience with business development analytics in support of Department of Energy and/or Department of Defense opportunities.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience with federal proposal development.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills are very important, both within the internal AtkinsRealis team and interfacing with customers.  

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced presentation skills.

  • Intermediate knowledge of the use of Microsoft Office products and project controls-specific software.

  • Detailed knowledge of the Company experience and capabilities.

  • Previous experience with the federal or commercial nuclear industry.

  • Must be a U.S citizen in order to be considered.
