AtkinsRéalis is in search of a Senior Site Inspector to work as a part of our Construction Auditing, East team. This position reports to the Construction Management Manager.

Location: Toronto, ON

Your role within the team:

  • Act as the Client representative in the field to inspect and verify Electrical utilities construction performed by Contractors.
  • Review all essential Contract documents and project specific plans and monitor Contractor compliance to these documents.
  • Verify construction is built as per IFC drawings and Client specifications, using approved materials only.
  • Prepare site reports with photos of the daily activities and maintain a deficiency register to track construction progress in accordance with the project schedule.
  • Verify construction activities comply with Contractor’s QA/QC plan and in accordance with the ITP.
  • Monitor Contractor safety performance and report any deviations from Contractor’s H&S Plan or violations of OHSA regulations.
  • Monitor environmental performance and report any violations/deviations from the Contractor’s Environmental Management Plan (EMP) or environmental regulations.

The ideal candidate:

  • Minimum 20 years of experience in Electrical Utilities Construction of Transmission or Stations projects.
  • Red Seal Certification for Powerline Technician, Journeyman Power Cable person, Substation Electrician, or equivalent is required.
  • Past Inspection, Supervisory or Manager experience would be an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario Electrical Regulations and ability to interpret Design drawings and Standards.
  • Good communication, and presentation skills as well as proficiency with MS Office
  • Self-accountable, with the ability to work independently and prioritize deliverables on time.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons of the year and flexible on working hours (nights/weekends), and have a valid G drivers license.
