Tooling Mechanical Technologist

Based on our current needs, opportunities are expected to be available starting immediately; positions are full time Technician/Technologist status at intermediate-senior levels.
 

This role will be based in Courtice, ON.

Your role within the team:

  • At this time, this solicitation is for the following position, which may be changed to meet project requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures and policies.
  • Assembly, repairing and maintaining of nuclear inspection and mockup equipment.
  • Participate in equipment testing programs.
  • Prepare route sheets and edit documents.
  • Complete prioritized work requests on time.
  • Become a nuclear energy worker (NEW).
  • Be willing to travel to vendor and project sites if required.
  • Maintenance of contaminated nuclear tooling and refurbishment activities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, efficient and effective communication (written and oral) and organization skills are essential. Must be “Team” Oriented with a demonstrated ability to work well with others and promote a positive work environment.

The ideal candidate:

  • Diploma of Collegial studies in mechanical technology or relevant technical experience.
  • Working experience between 5 and 7 years in mechanical assembly / testing / repair of nuclear inspection tooling and shop equipment.
  • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics, Swagelok training an asset.
  • Competency with hands on tooling skills, and trade qualifications are recommended.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of established engineering design principles and methods.
  • Acts with initiative and works within the team.
  • Have a working knowledge of industrial shop practices.
  • Familiarity with nuclear standards an asset.
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience an asset.
  • Demonstrate manual skills and dexterity.
  • Demonstrate specialized knowledge and good general understanding of other fields.
  • Able to contribute sound judgement, possesses a keen sense of responsibility, and is reliable within carrying out duties.
  • Coordinate other technicians on project deliverables.
  • Coordinate manufacturing and RP work when needed.
  • Security Clearance is a requirement for employment. (Candu & Customer site: OPG/Bruce Power).
  • Microsoft Word / Excel / Teams / Visio / SolidWorks.
