Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Transportation Planner to join our team in Henderson, Nevada on a part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to help grow and expand our transportation planning expertise across Nevada and beyond, supporting a diverse portfolio of high-profile projects.
In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in building and enhancing our transportation planning and engineering services throughout the region.
Your role
The successful candidate will lead the technical elements of transportation planning studies, providing expertise in corridor studies, traffic operations, safety analysis, and active transportation planning. You will guide analytical efforts, interpret findings within a broader multimodal and policy context, and clearly communicate recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
You will also contribute to technical report development, integrate stakeholder feedback into planning recommendations, and collaborate closely with internal teams. This role includes mentoring junior staff and may involve project management, proposal development, and business development activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as technical lead on transportation planning projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
- Act as Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager on planning assignments
- Lead client coordination and facilitate project meetings
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff on analysis, modeling, and reporting
- Support and lead preparation of studies, including:
- Corridor and feasibility studies
- Traffic impact analyses
- Multimodal and safety studies
- Perform and oversee quality control reviews of project deliverables
- Contribute to proposal development, including scope and fee development
- Support business development efforts through client engagement and relationship building

About you
- B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, or related field.
- At least 15 years of experience in transportation planning or related field.
- Professional Registration in your field of practice, e.g., P.E. or AICP, or certification of PTOE and/or RSP strongly preferred.
- Display strong technical writing and verbal communications skills.
- Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Be willing to mentor and guide junior staff.
- Be dynamic and passionate about the transportation planning field.
- Demonstrate a proven track record in applying a range of relevant analytical techniques to meet varying client / project requirements on a diverse range of projects.
- Have good organizational, communication, time, and budget management skills.
- Manage and work on various projects of various sizes concurrently.

Additional information
Expected compensation range is between $69.00 - $77.00 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
