Bridge and Civil Engineering Intern - Summer 2025

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Bridge and Civil Engineering Intern to join our Houston TX office.

Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Structural Intern in the Bridges & Infrastructure Design Team, you will:

• Assist with the structural analysis and design of bridges and other infrastructure projects.
• Support the preparation of engineering reports, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Work with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and structural design software to create and modify drawings.
• Collaborate with engineers on design development, drafting, and project coordination.
• Conduct basic research and data compilation to support design decisions.
• Participate in meetings, training sessions, and site visits to gain field exposure.

QUALIFICATIONS

• EXPERIENCE:
  • No prior experience required if enrolled in an associate or bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering.
• EDUCATION:
  • Must have completed at least 60 credit hours toward a Civil Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program by Summer 2025.
• SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Basic computer skills to enter and manage engineering data.
  • Strong math and analytical skills to perform engineering calculations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred but not required).
• PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS:
  • None required.
