We are seeking a Business Development & Strategy Director to join our team in Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, DC, Alexandria, New York, Dallas, Austin, Houston, Denver, Henderson or Los Angeles

AtkinsRéalis has the depth and breadth of expertise to respond to the most technically challenging and time-critical infrastructure projects and the urgent transition to a low-carbon economy. 

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Identifies new business opportunities obtained through customer and market intelligence.
  • Coordinates company resources in the pursuit and capture of new work.
  • Participates in development of capture plans for specific targets that address opportunities, preferred approaches, competitive analyses, and teaming arrangements.
  • Communicates with and engages company technical experts and operations personnel to develop solutions to customer challenges.
  • Participates in strategic planning with leadership team including development of growth plans for U.S. infrastructure market (including, but not limited to Rail and Transit, Aviation, Water, Road and Bridge and Federal agencies).
  • Works with Business Unit Hub and Market Managers, Business Development & Strategy Regional Directors, and Practice Leads in identifying and driving growth within their Business Unit.
  • Works with and under the direction of the Business Development and Strategy Director.
  • Develops, maintains, and builds a strong professional network and customer relationships with wide variety of clients, teaming partners, and subconsultants.
  • Determines clients to be included in the Key Account Management (KAM) Program and mentors and coaches KAM team members in client engagement.
  • Identifies teaming partners, develops teaming agreements, and obtains appropriate internal support and approval.
  • Develops conference/meeting schedule, manages budget, and participates with communications team on branding and messaging around trade shows, industry days, speaking engagements and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Coordinates with Communications on social media campaigns, thought leadership, and media content.
  • Manages overall budget for business development and proposal spend for Business Unit pursuits.
  • Develops annual projections of Sales metrics and updates/monitors for monthly business review and quarterly forecasting.
  • Manages the Gate 0 (go/no-go) process for the Business Unit.
  • Provides oversight to ensure compliance with reviews and required approvals.
  • Negotiates teaming agreements, scopes of work, contract types and business models that are consistent with the company’s risk profile and that result in favorable financial outcomes.
  • Understands, in broad terms, federal contracts and business planning activities. Engages corporate resources (e.g., Contracts, Legal and Procurement managers) to ensure contract terms and conditions are appropriately managed.
  • Prepares supporting documents and presents opportunities for senior leadership review and input on Major Pursuits Review Board (MPRB) meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What will you contribute?

  • Education equivalent to bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or Management, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating a proven history of sales for products in similar industry. Ten or more years of sales experience, including five to seven years of sales management experience, or the equivalent in related work experience.
  • Other acceptable degrees include marketing, science, construction or engineering or related field.
  • Initiative-taker requiring limited oversight.
  • Methodical thinker but focused on tactical execution.
  • Effective team building and collaboration skills with ability to thrive in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in the pursuit of alternative delivery opportunities including design-build; progress design-build; CMAR; and P3 preferred.
  • Existing relationships with other consulting firms and contractors to facilitate teaming preferred.
  • Affiliations with professional societies and active industry and community involvement preferred.

Expected compensation range is between $126,00 - $211,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
