AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern to join our Los Angeles, CA office.

Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in engineering workflow design and optimization across a wide array of engineering domains, including rail, water infrastructure, civil, industrial, and other domains, focusing on improving the efficiency of lifecycle processes and stage gates.
- Assists in the planning, design, and production of engineering projects, ensuring that standard frameworks, such as company quality processes, are followed.
- Conduct basic design document reviews
- Analyze project requirements and make recommendations for simplifying requirements management
- Assist with document control tasks
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the digital systems engineering needs of the project.
QUALIFICATIONS
- EXPERIENCE: No experience is generally required if accepted into a Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field..
- EDUCATION:
- Must have completed 60 hours towards an engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship.
- SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Cursory knowledge of engineering projects, lifecycle processes, and systems engineering principles (ISO 15288).
- Ability to work with and enter data in spreadsheets or databases.

Expected compensation range is between $25-$31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
