Graduating from the University of Sharjah with a degree in BSc. in Nuclear Engineering, Priyonta's intrigue in event planning and her role as an event organizer in the Nuclear Engineering Club at UoS speaks volumes about her versatile interests.
When not diving into the world of engineering, she finds solace in travel, culinary pursuits, and devouring novels.

What inspired you to study engineering?
“I feel lucky that I come from a family of engineers, so I was very familiar with the coursework required in this field although it was curiosity that led me to nuclear engineering since it is not very well known.”
What has been the most memorable or rewarding moment in your life/career to date?
“The most rewarding moment was the day of my senior design project presentation as it marked a milestone in my academic life. It was a proud moment for me as all the effort and hard work put into the year-long project was acknowledged and appreciated, especially by my mentor.”
What do you do at Atkinsréalis and when did you join?
“I joined AtkinsRéalis as an intern in the Nuclear sector. My internship was over a period of 11 weeks. During this time, I supported the team with research work and prepared a few reports for current and upcoming projects.”

What makes you proud to work here?
“In the limited time that I have spent, I loved the support and positive attitude that I experienced from everyone I met. Despite the lack of face-to-face interaction, everyone has been very supportive and made me feel comfortable.”

What are some of the challenges you encountered in your engineering careers or education and how have you overcome those?
“The most challenging time in my academic life was the duration of the senior design project, as we came across countless hurdles. However, with perseverance and teamwork, we were able to overcome each problem and find a solution.”

What are your career aspirations?
“I have always been interested in radiation and the medical aspect of nuclear energy. In the future, I hope to pursue a career in the field of Medical Physics which would give me the opportunity to help people as well as work on my passion.”
