Your interview with AtkinsRéalis

When you have an interview with us at AtkinsRéalis, we want you to feel prepared and confident. Here you’ll find some advice to help you make the most of your interview experience. From practical tips to insights into our culture and support, you'll find everything you need to make a strong start with us.

How to get the most from your AtkinsRéalis interview

To prepare for your interview at AtkinsRealis, start by getting to know us better – explore our values, recent projects, our purpose and where we stand in the industry. Follow us on LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook for a glimpse into life #InsideAtkinsRéalis.

Spend some time practicing common interview questions, both technical and behavioural. Using the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) method can help you share clear and concise examples of your past achievements.

The interview is your opportunity to showcase your skills and also to show how well you fit with AtkinsRéalis' values and mission. Be ready to talk about how you can contribute to our projects and our goals. Don't forget to ask questions too – it's a great chance to learn more about the team, our company culture, and potential career growth.

Whether it's your first time using Microsoft Teams or your first virtual interview, we want you to have the best experience. Here are a few tips on using Microsoft Teams:

  • Use Microsoft Teams in advance; practice with a few 'test' meetings to check the settings and get comfortable with the platform.
  • Prepare for the virtual interview in the same way as you would a face-to-face interview

On the day of the interview:

  • Find somewhere quiet where you won't be disturbed
  • If possible, pick somewhere with natural light. You can also use the 'background settings' to select a suitable background image if you want
  • Join the interview a few minutes early to check everything is working and settle in
  • At the start of the interview Click > Join Teams Meeting, this will open up Teams in your browser. This will then take you into a virtual lobby, just wait and you will be invited in.
  • When the meeting has started, make sure you've clicked the camera and microphone symbols to enable them
  • Your interview will now start – good luck!

At AtkinsRéalis, we firmly believe there should be no barriers to talent succeeding and we're proud of our work to demonstrate diversity and inclusion in the workplace. As an inclusive employer, and a 'Disability Confident Leader,' we are devoted to supporting our people and potential employees who are affected by disability or health conditions – visible or not.

If you feel that you need support or require an adjustment, whether this be at any point during the recruitment process or upon joining us, temporarily or permanently, we encourage you to inform us in confidence so that we can support you in the best way possible. Please get in touch with our recruitment team on +44 (0)121 483 6024 or send us an email for more information on [email protected].

Everyone belongs

We empower everyone to shine and contribute to our collective impact. We believe in the power of unique perspectives. "Different Makes a Difference" is our global program that shapes our culture, inspires our people, and drives our commitment to a more sustainable and fairer future.

In the UK & Europe, we're proud to have over 11,000 people from different cultures and backgrounds. Our goal is to ensure everyone feels included, valued for who they are and has an equal voice. We create a supportive environment that caters to individual needs and ambitions by integrating fairness into our working practices, procedures, projects, and culture. Our colleague-led, and leadership-sponsored, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) provide supportive communities where each of us is encouraged to speak up and empowered to take action.
