My internship with AtkinsRéalis has been an incredibly enriching experience. This was my first time interning with the company in the United States, and I discovered the opportunity through conversations with peers in the structural engineering program at Stanford. One of my colleagues, who works at AtkinsRéalis, spoke highly of the company, which piqued my interest.

Returning to AtkinsRéalis for a second internship was an easy decision. The supportive work environment, meaningful projects and incredible mentorship I received last summer made me excited to come back. I knew this was a place where I could continue growing my technical skills while contributing to projects that truly matter. This summer, I’ve had the opportunity to work in the ITS/Traffic department in Houston, Texas. 

This summer, I had the opportunity to intern with AtkinsRéalis for the first time, joining the Traffic and ITS team in Henderson, Nevada. I discovered the company through an internship fair at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where I’m currently studying Civil Engineering. From day one, the experience has been incredibly rewarding and filled with learning, growth, and meaningful connections.

My name is Louise, and I am currently working as a Roadway Design in the Atlanta, Georgia, office. I’m a senior Civil Engineering student at Kennesaw State University, and this is my second summer interning with the company. I chose to return because of the positive and enriching experience I had last summer. The supportive team, meaningful projects and opportunities for growth made it an easy decision to come back.

I began my internship with the Roadways team in summer of 2024. Although it was my first with this team, it was not my first experience with the company. In 2022, I interned at the Alexandria City office in Virginia through my high school’s Prince William County internship program. That early exposure gave me hands-on experience at both office and job sites, including shadowing various roles across the company.
