Overview

We are seeking an energetic and highly driven individual with Master's degree in water resources Engineering/Water science & Engineering/hydraulics Engineering to join our team as an Apprentice. This role is ideal for someone looking to build hands-on experience in the water sector and contribute to innovative projects in hydraulic modeling, floodplain mapping and flood risk management.

Your role

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Highly motivated and proactive, with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Skilled at collaborative working, have good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively.
  • Have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexible and prepared to take on new challenges.
  • Working knowledge of coding/programming using (R, VBA, Python) will be a plus.

About you

  • A strong academic background with a Master's degree in Water Resources/ Water Science Engineering/ Hydrology or a closely related field from a reputable university.
  • Knowledge in hydrology and hydraulics of urban and rural catchments including rainfall runoff analysis, design flood assessment and analysis.
  • Awareness of or willingness to learn hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM, HEC-HMS)
  • Familiarity with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) for spatial analysis and data visualization.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and competent in using emails and the internet.
  • Able to produce technical reports in English in a clear and concise form.
  • Good presentational skill.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to follow quality procedures and to maintain high quality standards in own work.
  • Enthusiasm to learn new skills and new work procedures.
