Building Mechanical Engineering Intern – Summer 2026

The Building Mechanical team in Québec is currently looking for motivated and passionate talents interested in building mechanics and seeking a stimulating career in the field.

Your Role

This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team, where you can put your design skills to work on projects directly aligned with the social and environmental challenges our society faces.

As a member of the Mechanical and Electrical division of the Technical Professional Organization (OPT / TPO) within Engineering Services, you will primarily work closely with the Mechanical project team.

Your tasks will include:

  • Designing building mechanical systems including chilled and hot water networks, steam systems, complex ventilation, humidification and dehumidification systems, plumbing, purified water systems, medical gases, and laboratory services.

  • Performing calculations related to the discipline.

  • Preparing the technical drawings and specifications required for project execution.

  • Writing feasibility studies and concept reports to assist clients in planning their projects.

  • Estimating construction costs as well as maintenance and operational costs.

  • Participating in construction supervision activities, either at the office and/or on-site.

  • Conducting inspections of mechanical installations.

  • Providing assistance to senior technical staff.

  • Supporting the discipline engineer or project manager in design tasks and coordination of the technical team to meet project deadlines.

About You

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in building engineering, with strong interest in building mechanical systems.

  • Registered with the engineering Order (OIQ) or in the process of obtaining membership.

  • Relevant experience in building mechanics through a previous internship, elective course, or involvement in a recognized organization (e.g., ASHRAE) is an asset.

  • Knowledge of REVIT MEP is an asset.

  • Strong teamwork skills.

  • Proficiency in French.
