Overview

Your role

  • Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification and assessment, structural design, and ageing management.
  • Prepare engineering design calculations for structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete and masonry elements as per the relevant CSA Standards and applicable codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze structural systems and elements as required using Analysis Software programs like SAP2000, ANSYS, LSDYNA.
  • Develop conceptual design, preliminary design and detailed design.
  • Prepare technical specification documents.
  • Support sr. engineers in the preparing design documents, engineering activities and compiling engineering packages.
  • Assist the Team Lead for work plans and deliverables and ensure adequacy of scopes, budgets and schedules.
  • Ensure the quality and consistency, accuracy, and neatness of engineering deliverables.
  • Compliance with applicable QA procedures and being responsible for producing quality work.
  • Delivery of all technical engineering deliverables/task within specified timelines and budgets.
  • Perform walk-downs and inspections.

About you

  • Civil Engineering degree from an accredited University. Master's degree and above is desired.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of structural stress analysis and design experience in steel and concrete structures in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings.

  • Eligible to be Licensed in a professional engineering organization recognized in Canada. (PEO)

  • Adequate knowledge of established Nuclear QA guidelines, procedures and practices is preferable.

  • Adequate knowledge of applicable nuclear safety codes and regulations is an asset.

  • Thorough knowledge of Canadian and International Codes and standards used in Civil/Structural engineering.

  • Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.

  • Ability to manage to work effectively under tight schedules and budget.

  • Eligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).
