How you will make your impact?

This job posting is for an existing vacancy and is a new position at Linxon.

As an Environmental Engineering Manager with Linxon, you own environmental compliance and performance across energy infrastructure projects in canada, guiding projects from early planning and permitting through construction and close‑out. You translate environmental assessments, regulatory requirements, and ISO‑aligned standards into practical, executable project controls that protect schedules, approvals, and environmental outcomes. Acting as the primary environmental authority for EPC and ECI delivery, you integrate environmental requirements into engineering, procurement, and construction decisions, lead permitting and compliance strategies, manage incidents and corrective actions, and serve as the key interface with regulators and clients to ensure commitments are met and environmental risks are effectively managed end to end.

What will you do?

  • Lead environmental planning from project award through close‑out by defining permitting strategies, identifying environmental risks early, and ensuring requirements are built into project schedules, designs, and execution plans from the start.

  • Translate Environmental Assessment commitments and regulatory conditions into clear, actionable controls that guide engineering, procurement, construction, and site activities through every phase of delivery.

  • Develop and operate project‑specific Environmental Management Systems that centralize permits, commitments, mitigation measures, monitoring programs, and corrective actions, creating an auditable framework that supports compliant execution and continuous improvement.

  • Coordinate and secure all required environmental permits and approvals by working closely with engineering teams, construction leadership, and external consultants to avoid delays and compliance gaps.

  • Embed environmental requirements into day‑to‑day construction activities by overseeing monitoring programs, inspections, and audits to verify controls are implemented, effective, and documented.

  • Serve as the primary environmental interface with regulators, inspectors, customers, and internal stakeholders, providing clear communication and defensible compliance documentation from start to finish.

  • Lead environmental incident and event management by responding quickly, ensuring accurate reporting, driving root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions that prevent recurrence and strengthen future performance.

  • Own compliance with Ontario Regulation 406/19 by managing excess soil planning, approvals, tracking, and reporting from excavation through final disposition using digital tracking tools such as SoilFLO.

  • Implement and oversee digital and geospatial environmental tools where required to improve visibility, traceability, and decision‑making across project teams.

  • Strengthen environmental performance and sustainability outcomes by identifying lessons learned, improving processes, and continuously raising the standard for environmental stewardship across projects.

Who you are?

  • You are a seasoned environmental professional with a strong educational foundation in environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related discipline.

  • You are experienced in leading environmental management on EPC, utility, or large infrastructure projects, with a proven ability to own compliance and environmental outcomes from planning through construction and close‑out.

  • You are confident navigating complex regulatory frameworks and applying ISO 14001‑aligned Environmental Management Systems in active project environments.

  • You are an effective communicator who builds credibility with regulators, clients, contractors, and internal teams by translating technical requirements into clear, practical execution plans.

  • You are comfortable working across engineering, procurement, and construction teams to embed environmental requirements into real‑world decision‑making.

  • You are hands‑on and field‑aware, willing and able to travel to project sites to stay connected to execution, compliance, and risk management.

  • You are knowledgeable in Ontario Regulation 406/19 and understand how to manage excess soil planning, approvals, tracking, and reporting across the full soil lifecycle.

  • You are proficient with digital environmental management tools such as SoilFLO, ISNetworld, and GIS or geospatial platforms and use data to support compliance and transparency.

  • You are professionally accountable, bringing—or working toward—a recognized designation such as P.Eng., R.P.Bio., EP®, or an equivalent credential.

What we offer?

The compensation range for this position is between CAD $117,200 and CAD $156,300.
