We are seeking an experienced and solution-oriented GIS Consultant to join our Highways & Transportation team based in Dublin. This is a rewarding opportunity for a self-guided professional with a passion for innovation and digital transformation in geospatial technologies.

The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues to develop digital and geospatial solutions for our clients across a range of sectors, including highways, transportation, infrastructure, and environment.

Your Role

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to design and implement geospatial strategies that align with client goals—accurately scoping effort and delivering high-quality results from concept to completion.
  • Develop custom GIS workflows, automate data processes, integrate digital solutions and drive innovation in spatial analytics and real-time data integration.
  • Create high-quality cartographic products using ESRI tools for field planning, reporting, and presentations.
  • Leverage your expertise in the ESRI Portal web environment to publish, deploy, and steward digital GIS solutions.
  • Enable mobile data collection for field crews using GPS-enabled devices and ESRI Field Maps.
  • Serve as the lead GIS professional on small to mid-sized projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, and with potential to coordinate supporting GIS resources.
  • Be an active participant and technical contributor on large, multi-year projects.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to the continuous improvement of GIS methodologies, standards, and best practices within the organization.

About you

  • Degree Level 8 +or equivalent in GIS or geospatial systems.
  • Relevant years of professional experience in GIS analysis, solution deployment, and project deliverables. Experience in an engineering or environmental consultancy including the preparation of data for environmental reporting is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results ina fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in ESRI tools and platforms (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps, Survey123) and QGIS.
  • Strong skills in geodatabase design, spatial analysis, web mapping, and best practices for publishing to Portal for ArcGIS.
  • In-depth knowledge of Open-Source GIS platforms and tools.
  • Programming knowledge (Python, SQL, JavaScript) for geospatial applications.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and statistical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present technical information clearly.
  • Strong digital literacy and ability to adopt emerging technologies.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and proactive problem solver.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet project objectives.
  • Ability to coordinate the inputs from multiple teams producing deliverables simultaneously across several projects.
