Overview
We are hiring! AtkinsRéalis seeks an energetic, detail-oriented self-starter to join our team in Orlando, Florida as a Highway Concepts Project Manager, supporting the Florida's Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) General Engineering Consultant (GEC) Program, working as an "extension of staff" in the client's'office in Ocoee, FL (metro Orlando area). This position will provide career growth opportunities through engagement with FTE toll road, and express / managed lanes toll road infrastructure projects. Project design lead assignments at this level involve a variety of projects, ranging from intersection improvements to interchange reconfigurations and limited access facility widening improvements.
The ideal candidate will have a broad highway engineering background, with experience in limited access roadway and/or tolling facility projects. Willingness to be a team player is a must. Relocation assistance is available.
Your role
- Responsible for the development and oversight of conceptual engineering design efforts and report preparation. This may include significant coordination with internal and external design support staff, Client staff and local governing agencies.
- Oversee other Concept engineering and CAD support staff.
- Participates in the production of minor in-house traffic design tasks ranging from the preparation of concept plans to signed and sealed contract documents. This may include serving as a production project manager, overseeing consultant contracts for final design efforts.
- Represents the Client at meetings, making decisions and recommendations on behalf of the Client concerning project issues and disseminating the results of the meetings to the appropriate Client and GEC staff.
- Individual has the potential to be working full time in the Client's'office and must be able to communicate well with others.
- Position will require the ability to lead and coordinate meetings as well as work well in a team environment with other consultants in the Client's'office.
- Position does require time management and organizational skills as the individual will be involved in multiples projects operating on multiple schedules.
- Position may require limited daily and overnight travel on as needed basis to support the Client.
- Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

About you
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related Transportation Technical Field.
- Professional Engineer Registration in the State of Florida required, or if registered in another state, the ability to obtain registration in the State of Florida within one (1) year of assuming this position.
- This position requires minimum of eight (8) years relevant engineering experience in transportation engineering since B.S. and three (3) years of FDOT design experience.
- Experience with toll facility/limited access projects is a plus.
- Must be familiar with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Policy and Procedures, including the Florida Design Manual (FDM) and FDOT Standard Plans.
- General Engineering Consultant (GEC) experience is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office personal computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; working knowledge of SharePoint or other project management / production support systems, and Adobt Acrobat Professional.
- Must be highly proficient with MicroStation or AutoCAD Civil 3D software packages.
- Strong, effective interpersonal oral, listening and technical writing, communication skills in English; good public speaking ability to large groups of people.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skill.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

Expected compensation range is between $118,000 - $155,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location
