Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Offshore Structural Wind Engineer to join our Offshore Engineering Team based in the Bangalore Global Technical Centre (GTCI). This individual will play a key role in the technical delivery of complex offshore engineering work packages especially related to offshore Wind turbine generators (WTGs). The Individual shall have hands on experience in Concept & Feasibility, FEED & Detail engineering Phase. Fabrication Construction and Installation engineering experience will be an added advantage.
The successful candidate will bring a strong structural/marine background, particularly in the design and analysis of floating and fixed marine/offshore structures. You will contribute directly to structural integrity assessments, hydrodynamic modelling, marine operations planning, and system integration — ensuring that designs meet international standards while remaining cost-effective and constructable.
This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of structural engineering, and offshore renewable energy, providing leadership in multi-disciplinary teams and contributing to AtkinsRéalis' continued growth in the offshore sector.
Your role
- Lead and manage technical aspects of offshore engineering projects, with a strong focus on wind turbine generator principles applied to both fixed and floating offshore structures.
- Perform detail structural analysis and design report for offshore wind foundation includes (ULS, SLS, FLS, ALS) and structural analyses of floating platforms, monopiles, jackets, FPSOs, a using advanced tools such as SESAM Genie, DNV Bladed, SACS and ANSYS.
- Shall have experience in Integrated Load analysis, Primary and Secondary steel design report, transition piece design, connection design, monopile buckling check, load transfer report, conduct marine operations analysis, including transportation, installation, lifting, loadout studies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant international codes and standards (DNV, API, ISO, AISC, NORSOK) from a structural perspective.
- Develop efficient and innovative design methodologies for WTG foundation design considering Monopile, Tripod, 4-legged foundation configurations.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications, with a strong emphasis on engineering rigor and verification.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and geotechnical engineers to ensure integrated system performance.
- Mentor junior structural engineers and support knowledge transfer within the team.
- Engage directly with international clients and stakeholders through clear and confident communication.
- Travel to site locations or partner offices for short-term assignments as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural engineering, or Offshore Structural Engineering – must.
- Master's Degree or PhD in Ocean Engineering, Offshore Structures, or a related discipline with significant professional experience in marine or offshore structural design within a consultancy or EPCI contractor environment.

About you
- Minimum 15-20 years of relevant offshore engineering design experience with a strong wind turbine generator component.
- Strong background in oil & gas structures, including fixed platforms, jackets, and FPSOs, with demonstrated application.
- Proven track record in offshore project, experiences in WTG (Wind Turbine Generator) foundation support structure design for floating and fixed applications.
- Proven track record in offshore Substation design.
- Demonstrated ability to lead medium to large-scale projects independently.
- Experience across multiple phases of projects – Concept, FEED, Detailed Design, Procurement, and Construction Support.
- Proficiency in structural and finite element analysis software:
- Mandatory: SESAM Genie, SACS, Mathcad, MS Excel
- Desirable: DNV Bladed, Ansys
- Strong understanding of offshore wind load calculation, dynamic analysis using relevant tools.
- Knowledge of programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, VBA) is advantageous for automation and data processing.
- In-depth understanding of structural and ocean engineering fundamentals, including fatigue, stability, buckling, and dynamic loading.
- Expertise in international standards and codes such as API, DNV, ISO, AISC, and NORSOK.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise effectively with international clients and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong project management and commercial acumen, including negotiation, budgeting, and planning.
- Proven leadership and mentoring abilities with a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
