Your role
- Lead the delivery of project controls services across assigned projects, including schedule, cost, progress measurement, change management support, and performance reporting.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve project controls processes, procedures, and standards to support consistent execution.
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules and cost control frameworks, ensuring alignment to scope, execution strategy, and reporting requirements.
- Provide regular status updates, dashboards, and reports to ensure stakeholders are apprised of progress, forecast outcomes, and key risks/issues.
- Identify, analyze, and communicate variances, trends, and emerging risks; develop recovery and corrective action plans with the project team.
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the project controls function, including work planning, task prioritization, and quality assurance of deliverables.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of planners and cost controllers; conduct performance evaluations in accordance with company practices.
- Interface with clients and alliance partners on project controls matters, including reporting, forecasting, and change/claims support as required.
- Supervisory responsibility: Provides functional leadership to the Project Controls team (planners and cost controllers). Responsible for work assignment and prioritization, coaching and mentoring, performance feedback and evaluations, and supporting hiring and onboarding activities as required.
Other aspects:
- May require periodic travel to project sites and/or client locations.
- May require extended hours during key project milestones or reporting periods.

About you
- Post-secondary education (diploma or degree) in a relevant discipline (e.g., business, engineering, science, or commerce) or equivalent combination of education and senior project controls experience.
- 10+ years of relevant cost and schedule controls experience, including 5–10 years leading teams in complex engineering and construction project environments.
- Professional certification/designation (PMP and/or AACE preferred) or ability to obtain as required by the organization.
- Sector experience: nuclear experience preferred/required.
- Strong knowledge of project controls principles and practices (planning and scheduling, cost control, progress measurement, forecasting, variance analysis, and performance reporting).
- Working knowledge of PMBOK/PMI project management techniques, including critical path method (CPM) planning and earned value management (EVM).
- Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge of scheduling tools (Primavera P6 preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and recommend corrective actions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to prioritize work and perform under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication, report writing, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate with senior management.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, clients, and alliance partners.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior and intermediate staff.
