As a Project Manager within PDP, you'll lead the delivery of projects and critical work packages that help our clients achieve their strategic objectives. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams of experienced project professionals, you'll apply your expertise while broadening your experience across different sectors and delivery environments.
As part of our growing North, Scotland and Northern Ireland team, you'll play a key role in delivering successful outcomes across some of the UK's most complex and challenging programmes. Your role
- Lead the successful delivery of projects from initiation through to completion, managing scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality and stakeholder expectations.
- Build and lead high-performing project teams, creating an environment where people are motivated, supported and empowered to succeed.
- Develop strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner and ensuring projects deliver real value.
- Apply effective governance and project controls, ensuring delivery aligns with business requirements, contractual obligations and industry best practice.
- Champion a positive safety culture, embedding health, safety, security and wellbeing considerations into every stage of project delivery.
- Proactively manage project risks, opportunities, dependencies and change, driving informed decision-making and successful outcomes.
- Manage commercial and procurement activities, including subcontractor engagement and performance where required.
- Monitor and report project performance against delivery, financial, quality and KPI measures, providing clear insight to clients and leadership teams.
- Support the development of others through mentoring, coaching and sharing best practice across the Practice, while demonstrating AtkinsRéalis values of Safety, Integrity, Collaboration, Innovation and Excellence.

About you
We're looking for a motivated Project Manager who combines strong project delivery capability with excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills. You will likely have:
- A degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction or a related discipline.
- Working towards or holding a recognised professional qualification such as APM PMQ, Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) or a relevant engineering chartership.
- Demonstrable experience leading projects or major work packages through the full project lifecycle, with accountability for scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality and stakeholder management.
- Experience operating within engineering, infrastructure, defence, nuclear, transportation, energy or other technically complex and regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, change control, commercial management and project controls.
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and building trusted relationships with clients, suppliers and key stakeholders.
- Knowledge of construction and engineering contracts, particularly NEC3 and NEC4.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and coordinate teams at all levels.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with experience supporting the development of colleagues through mentoring, coaching and knowledge sharing.
