Overview
The QA Engineer will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining quality assurance processes throughout the construction phase of major building and hospitality projects. The role ensures that construction activities, materials, workmanship, and project deliverables comply with contract requirements, project specifications, approved quality plans, applicable standards, and client expectations.
Your role
Quality Assurance Management
- Ensure compliance with project quality objectives, contractual requirements, and approved quality management procedures.
- Monitor contractor quality control activities and verify the effectiveness of quality assurance processes.
- Review and assess quality documentation, inspection records, test reports, and material approvals.
- Identify quality risks and proactively recommend preventive measures to avoid construction defects and non-conformities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project quality performance.
Inspection, Testing and Compliance
- Witness inspections, material testing, and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with approved standards and specifications.
- Verify that construction works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Review submitted inspection requests and ensure timely completion and closure of quality-related inspections.
- Monitor compliance with international standards, industry best practices, and project-specific quality requirements.
- Ensure proper management of hold points, witness points, and inspection checkpoints throughout project execution.
Non-Conformance and Corrective Actions
- Review and monitor non-conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Investigate recurring quality issues and recommend appropriate solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Track closure of quality observations, defects, and punch list items.
- Coordinate with project teams to verify the effectiveness of corrective measures implemented by contractors.
- Maintain records of quality incidents, root cause analyses, and improvement actions.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with Client representatives, Resident Engineers, contractors, and consultants on quality-related matters.
- Participate in progress meetings and provide updates on project quality performance and compliance status.
- Support technical discussions concerning workmanship standards, material quality, and construction practices.
- Assist in Quality Management System awareness and training initiatives for project personnel.
- Promote a culture of quality excellence across all project activities and stakeholders.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports summarizing inspections, audits, non-conformities, and quality trends.
- Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, test results, approvals, and quality documentation.
- Review contractor quality reports and verify the accuracy of submitted information.
- Track quality key performance indicators and provide regular performance updates to project management.
- Ensure all project quality documentation is properly controlled, updated, and archived.

About you
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in Quality Management or Quality Assurance is preferred.
- Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification in ISO 9001 is highly desirable.
- Membership in a recognized engineering or quality management professional organization is preferred.
- Additional certifications related to construction quality, inspection, or project management are advantageous.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 8-12 years of professional experience in quality assurance and quality management within construction projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in site supervision consultancy or construction supervision assignments.
- Proven experience on large-scale buildings, convention centers, hotels, resorts, and mixed-use developments.
- Strong experience in managing quality audits, inspections, testing programs, and quality compliance activities.
- Previous GCC experience, preferably within Saudi Arabia, is highly desirable.
Technical Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Thorough understanding of construction materials, building systems, testing procedures, and inspection methodologies.
- Experience in quality auditing, documentation control, non-conformance management, and corrective action processes.
- Familiarity with local regulations, international standards, and construction quality best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, quality management software, and reporting tools.
