Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join our Site Operations team in the KSA. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all construction activities meet the required quality standards, specifications, and client requirements. This position will involve overseeing quality control processes on-site, leading audits, and ensuring compliance with local and international standards.

Your role

Quality Management

  • Develop and implement quality control procedures and strategies for the project in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements. Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to the project's quality objectives.

Site Inspections & Audits

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards.

Non-Conformance Management

  • Identify, document, and resolve non-conformances and deviations from the quality plan. Work with project teams to ensure that corrective and preventive actions are taken.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain detailed records of quality inspections, audits, and reports. Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on quality performance and any identified issues.

Coordination with Contractors & Subcontractors

  • Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure quality standards are met. Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship, and verify that suppliers comply with specifications and quality requirements.

Training & Guidance

  • Mentor and train junior engineers and site personnel on quality standards, procedures, and best practices. Provide technical guidance and support to the team to ensure continuous improvement in quality processes.

Compliance with Standards

  • Ensure that all works comply with local and international construction quality standards, such as ISO 9001, and client-specific requirements (e.g., client-specific quality manuals and procedures).

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement in quality management processes, suggesting and implementing new methods and procedures to enhance overall site operations and project delivery.

Safety and Risk Management

  • Collaborate with the safety and risk management teams to ensure that quality processes align with health, safety, and environmental requirements on site.

About you

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in quality engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a senior role overseeing quality control on large-scale construction projects. Prior experience in the UAE or GCC region is preferred.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and construction industry standards.
  • In-depth understanding of ISO 9001, quality control procedures, and inspection techniques.
  • Experience with construction materials, testing procedures, and site inspection practices.
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards (e.g., ASTM, BS, AISC).

Leadership & Mentoring

  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, providing technical direction and support in quality assurance and control processes.

Problem Solving

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Communication

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and the project team.

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in quality management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Procore, Aconex, etc.).

Language Skills

  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken). Arabic is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, or CQI).
  • Experience with building and infrastructure projects in the UAE, including high-rise buildings, commercial developments, or large infrastructure works.
  • Knowledge of sustainable construction practices and LEED/Estidama certification processes.
