Sustainability Consultant II

Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India | Gurgaon, Haryana, Haryāna, India | Mumbai, Mahārāshtra, India

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Sustainability Consultant to join our India team. This role will support the delivery of strategic advisory and technical solutions for buildings, masterplans, mixed-use developments, and large-scale community projects.

The role focuses on delivering sustainability certifications and sustainability framework projects and assist with the development of sustainability consultancy for new build and existing buildings and communities. Work spans concept through stages of preconcept to detailed design and procurement, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

You will operate within a team of sustainability professionals delivering the highest standards of technical work and aiding the continued success of the Sustainability team by being an integral part of our client focused delivery of projects. You'll also get the opportunity to work on exciting and significant projects, delivering quality work that has a positive and lasting influence on the community and the environment.

The position is Full-time with the opportunity for hybrid home/office working.

The Role:

The role will include:

  • Effectively convey the sustainability certification program and client requirements to project teams, ensuring alignment and tracking progress throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead and manage the certification process for LEED, WELL, Estidama, and Al Sa'fat, including preparation and submission of required documentation.
  • Possess working knowledge of additional green building frameworks such as Mostadam, GSAS, BREEAM, Envision, and CEEQUAL.
  • Understanding certification requirements, workflows, and submission procedures is highly advantageous.
  • Deliver whole-building/asset LCAs and embodied carbon studies; model scenarios, benchmark options, and generate client-ready insight and visuals.
  • Manage LCA-focused sustainability projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
  • Collaborate directly with design disciplines to define and embed sustainability interventions to meet certification credits and drive sustainable design.
  • Apply PAS 2080:2023 / RICS WLCA (2nd ed.) and/or similar principles for whole-life carbon management and reporting.
  • Excellent skills in narrative writing for supporting highly rated sustainability projects.
  • Possess the ability to address challenges and devise effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Review necessary design drawings, materials requirement, specifications, and contractual sustainability documents of the project.
  • Prepare the necessary documentation required to maintain project sustainability KPIs.
  • Prepare sustainability plans, guidelines, procedures, reporting and monitoring trackers, energy simulations & relevant reports.
  • Document clear technical notes, methods, and client presentations.
  • Demonstrate research experience, as this job will likely demand both directed and individual research into architectural materials and technology, building services systems, green building and urban policy, and social and human comfort issues.

Core Skills:

  • Holds a Bachelor / Masters level in Engineering, Architecture or Built Environment- related degrees.
  • LEED Accredited Professional
  • 6-12 years' experience in building certification, LCA/embodied carbon for AEC/infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in sustainability building and masterplan certifications (knowledge of rating systems such as LEED, Mostadam, WELL, Estidama, CEEUQAL, is preferred).
  • Experience with developing and implementing sustainability concepts for master planning projects.
  • Experience in building physics modeling, including energy, daylight, comfort, and parametric analysis, with hands-on experience using IES-VE software are advantageous.
  • Understand energy modelling and can interpret modelling results
  • Experience in life cycle assessments is advantageous.
  • Skilled in liaising with design disciplines and managing relationships across all project phases
  • Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously with effective planning to meet deadlines
  • Experienced in managing diverse sustainability aspects of complex design and construction projects, including initiatives aimed at achieving Net-Zero carbon targets.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English with the ability to communicate results via Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and related software, and craft compelling presentations and reports Flexible and open to work with the wider Environment and Sustainability disciplines. Comfortable working independently Solutions focused.
  • Be Self-motivated, dedicated, and proactive with a passion for detail.
  • Good experience with numerous platforms, including Microsoft Office, InDesign, AutoCAD, Rhino and Grasshopper.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Desirable but not essential

  • Accreditations: Estidama PQP, GSAS CGP, Mostadam AP, SITES AP
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in architectural modeling software such as Revit, SketchUp, and Rhino
  • Sustainability Expertise: Experienced in conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) using E-tool or similar platforms
  • LEED Commissioning: Experience with design stage commissioning preferably with LEED with relevant professional credentials
