Overview
We are hiring! AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Traction Power Engineer to join our Los Angeles, CA office.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Traction Power Engineer with 5–10 years of experience in the design, construction, and maintenance of traction power systems, specifically with third rail electrification. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transit infrastructure projects and a proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. Experience in overseeing construction activities, managing contractors, and ensuring compliance with industry standards is essential.
Your role
- Design and review traction power systems, with a focus on third rail applications.
- Support construction management and field engineering during project execution.
- Coordinate with utility companies, transit agencies, and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates.

About you
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in traction power and third rail systems.
- Familiarity with IEEE traction power standards.

- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Strong communication and project coordination skills.

Additional information
Expected compensation range is between 150,000 - $170,000 depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
