Overview

As part of this commitment, the Training Student will support theTraining and Onboarding team in delivering high‑quality training programs, maintaining learning systems, and ensuring employees have the tools and qualifications needed to succeed in their roles.
The Training Student will report to the Training & Onboarding Manager and will assist in coordinating onboarding activities, administering the Learning Management System (LMS), maintaining qualification records, and supporting various training initiatives across the organization. This role is ideal for a student seeking hands‑on experience in corporate training and digital learning technologies.
Your role
- Exposure to corporate training and digital learning systems.
- Opportunities to contribute to meaningful onboarding and training initiatives.
- Support the coordination and delivery of onboarding programs, ensuring new hires receive required training, resources, and guidance during their first weeks.
- Assist in creating, updating, and maintaining training materials, including presentations, e‑learning modules, job aids, and procedural documentation.
- Administer the Learning Management System by enrolling users, assigning courses, updating training records, and troubleshooting user issues.
- Maintain employee qualification records, track certification expiry dates, and support compliance reporting for audits and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and functional leads to gather training requirements and support the development of role‑specific learning pathways.
- Monitor training completion metrics and prepare reports for management, highlighting progress, gaps, and recommendations for improvement.
- Support the digitization and automation of training processes to improve efficiency and accessibility for employees and the Training and Onboarding team.
- Assist with scheduling training sessions, coordinating logistics, and communicating training updates to employees and leaders.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to onboarding, training delivery, and learning systems.
- Provide general administrative support to the Training team, including document organization, SharePoint updates, and communication drafting.

About you
- Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary program in Training, Human Resources, Business, Education, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience with LMS platforms (e.g., SuccessFactors, Workday Learning, Cornerstone) is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles or instructional design concepts is an asset.
- Strong interest in training, onboarding, or learning technologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in record‑keeping.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced office environment.
- A proactive, self‑starter mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to be in the office 5 days per week.
