Are you an Engineer who thrives on analysing and solving difficult problems? Are you drawn to complex projects and excited by the opportunity to develop and learn new skills?

You will be part of a dynamic team delivering exciting projects in the nuclear industry sector. You’re likely to be handling challenging engineering analysis and database processing tasks, so enjoying analytical problem-solving is a must! The constant in this role is the complex nature of the job and the chance to provide innovative solutions to a range of problems for several appreciative clients in the nuclear sector.

What You’ll Do:

Craft Safety Stories:

  • Write compelling safety cases that tell the story of how we keep our nuclear
  • facilities safe.
  • Use your creativity to make complex safety information clear and engaging.

Analyse and Innovate:

  • Dive deep into safety data and operational procedures to find ways to improve.
  • Be a problem-solver who is always looking for innovative solutions to enhance safety.

Stay Ahead of the Curve:

  • Keep up with the latest trends and advancements in nuclear safety.
  • Ensure our safety cases are always up-to-date and compliant with regulations.

Collaborate and Communicate:

  • Work with a diverse team of engineers, safety experts, and other stakeholders.
  • Share your ideas and insights in meetings and workshops.
  • Take advantage of opportunities for professional growth and development.

Role Requirements:

You will work within small to medium-sized engineering teams. To benefit from the collective experience of the team, and our clients and drive innovative thinking, you’ll work in a collaborative and supportive office environment. You will bring a level of technical knowledge and enthusiasm to working within those teams to perform tasks for multiple workstreams effectively.

Essential Criteria:

  • Strong background in an engineering discipline (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, chemical, electrical, C&I, nuclear).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills.
  • High motivation for the role, drive to deliver and willingness to learn.
  • An interest in the engineering and safety intricacies of commercial nuclear reactor power plants.
  • Ability to comprehend high-level technical documents in a detail-oriented manner.
  • A commitment to our values of safety, integrity, collaboration, innovation and excellence.

Please flag if you have experience in any of the following (but still apply if you might enjoy gaining that experience too) -

  • Risk Assessment methodologies and software like RiskSpectrum™.
  • Hazard/fault identification studies e.g. HAZOP, FMEA, etc
  • Qualitative and Quantitative Hazard assessments / radiological hazard analysis.
  • Probabilistic safety assessment/Component reliability assessment/Human Error Probability assessment/Common Cause Failures analysis.
  • Microsoft Office tools.
