Celebrating women in engineering at AtkinsRéalis–India

At AtkinsRéalis, we’re proud to be home to many remarkable women who are shaping the future of engineering each with a story defined by courage, resilience, and purpose. In a field where women remain underrepresented, these trailblazers are doing more than building infrastructure—they’re breaking barriers, challenging norms, and leading with intent.Read on to discover powerful stories of growth, grit, and what it truly means to thrive as a woman in engineering.

Redefining inclusion in engineering

Sangeeta’s journey began in an orthodox Indian middle-class family and a college classroom where she was the only woman. Alongside the demands of culture and motherhood, she navigated the added challenge of a hearing disability. But through perseverance, technical excellence, and a drive to grow, she delivered over 25 million ft² of built space from concept to completion and earned her CEng and AIStructE chartered titles.

She now thrives in a role where she’s not only seen and supported but celebrated. Her dream of working on global projects is no longer just a dream, it's her daily reality.

Read how Sangeeta’s story shows what’s possible when inclusion is real.

Growing, returning, and thriving again

Britty began her career at AtkinsRéalis in 2018 as a flood modeller and returned after a two-year break, missing the meaningful projects and development culture. Now, she leads wastewater modelling for Irish framework projects and continues to thrive as both an engineer and a working mother.

She proudly earned her chartership, a milestone that boosted her confidence and reaffirmed her belief that women don’t need to choose between career growth and family.

Read how Britty built a career that balances motherhood and professional ambition.
