We are seeking an experienced Asset & License Management Lead to oversee IT asset lifecycle management and software license compliance across global operations. The role requires a hands‑on leader with expertise in CMDB and Software Asset Management (SAM) tools, strong vendor/client management skills, and the ability to drive KPI‑based governance and reporting.
What will you do?
- Lead the end‑to‑end IT asset and license management function across hardware, software, and cloud services.
- Manage and maintain the CMDB (Configuration Management Database) ensuring accuracy and integrity of asset data.
- Oversee SAM tools for license tracking, compliance, and optimization.
- Define and enforce policies and processes for asset lifecycle management (procurement, onboarding, usage, retirement).
- Monitor and report on KPIs, SLAs, and compliance metrics to leadership.
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, and ITSM teams to ensure cost optimization and compliance.
- Manage vendor relationships for hardware/software contracts and negotiate renewals.
- Partner with clients and stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment on asset usage and license compliance.
- Prepare audit reports and ensure compliance with ISO 20000, ISO 27001, and regulatory standards.
- Drive automation initiatives to streamline asset tracking and reporting.
- Mentor and guide junior team members in asset and license management best practices.
Experience, Education and other Required:
- Experience: 10–12 years in IT asset and license management, with at least 3–5 years in a Global Lead role
- Strong hands‑on expertise in CMDB management and SAM tools (ServiceNow SAM, Flexera, Snow, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in vendor management and contract negotiation for hardware/software licenses.
- Solid understanding of ITIL processes (especially Asset & Configuration Management).
- Experience in client management and global stakeholder engagement.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and drive cost optimization.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with cloud licensing models (Azure, AWS, M365).
- Exposure to audit and compliance frameworks (ISO 20000, ISO 27001, GDPR).
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- ITIL v4 certification mandatory.
- Certifications in SAM/IT Asset Management (CSAM, CHAMP, CAMP) preferred.
- PMP/Prince2 or equivalent project management certification is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of financial and contractual aspects of IT asset management.
