Overview

The AtkinsRéalis Infrastructure Business is seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented, self-starter to join our Dubai or Abu Dhabi office as a Senior ICT/Telecom Engineer. The SE will support infrastructure multi-disciplinary projects for clients in GCC, including planning, designing and engineering related to ELV systems.

Your role

  • Strong knowledge in networking concept and solution including active equipment design (Core switch, Distribution switch, WIFI design, Router, Layer 2-3 switch etc.).
  • Technical sound in design of structured/passive cabling (fibre, Cat cabling design, back-bone, horizontal/vertical cabling design).
  • Core design experience in server/ data centre design.
  • Strong design knowledge in code and regulation.
  • Regional Telecom and Security Code/regulation (UAE, KSA).
  • Strong design background in Audio-Visual design (preferred in certification in acoustic study, BGM, professional sound).
  • Strong design knowledge in other low voltage system like: Fire Detection & Alarm System
  • CCTV System, Access Control System, Intrusion Alarm & PAVA.
  • design knowledge in building management system including developing the equipment schedule, specification, I/O Matrix, sequence of operation etc.
  • Design experience in ICT&ELV region wise: Middle East
  • Coordinate with Civil Infra, landscape and marine contractors for civil works of ICT containment, poles and duct works, foundation of ELV/ICT and security systems.
  • Technical support on large multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects delivery.
  • Support single and multi-disciplinary discipline bids, with a clear focus on what is needed to win.
  • Continue to build relationships with existing clients, securing repeat business and identifying additional business opportunities.
  • Build and motivate a team and demonstrate good leadership qualities.
  • Report on project performance.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and ensure that a good Health & Safety culture is engendered within the team.
  • Assist in developing a highly motivated and performing team creating opportunities for the development of individuals.
  • Provide technical expertise on a variety of large engineering projects.
  • Support in designs and budgets and drive projects from tender to delivery in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Increase your networking profile with both internal and external client.

About you

Key skills

  • Membership/Affiliations in appropriate professional institutes.
  • Experience in the IT/ICT distribution, data centre and ICT infrastructure systems.
  • Experience in managing construction contracts.
  • UAE experience is preferred.
  • Experience with IT Specifications, SIRA, DEWA, MSSD Regulations and all other UAE and KSA local authority regulations and specifications.
  • Familiar with IEC, TIA, ITU standards, BS EN and IEC industrial standards for sitewide ICT.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from a four-year accredited college or university.
  • 10 - 15 years of engineering experience.

Person Specification (Personality Attributes)

  • Excellent communication and report writing skills, and good presentation skills in English.
  • Written and spoken Arabic skills are beneficial but not essential.
  • Be enthusiastic about improving the safety performance of site operations.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with site teams and motivate them to meet the project objectives.

Experience

  • A minimum 10-14 years of engineering experience, 5 of which will have been in directly related to design on projects of site wide ICT infrastructure.
