How will you make your impact?

As a Site Quality Installation Inspector with Linxon, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful execution and delivery of complex construction and infrastructure projects from initial installation through final acceptance and commissioning. You will serve as a key quality authority on site, overseeing electrical, mechanical, and civil installation activities to ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and in full compliance with approved Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with construction teams, engineering, client representatives, and third-party inspectors to uphold the highest standards of workmanship, quality assurance, and operational excellence. You will proactively identify risks, resolve quality concerns, and drive continuous compliance throughout all phases of construction while supporting project milestones, commissioning readiness, and successful client turnover. From project start through completion, you will be instrumental in maintaining quality integrity, ensuring installation accuracy, and contributing to the overall success and reliability of critical utility and substation infrastructure projects.

What will you do?

  • You will conduct thorough and systematic site inspections to monitor and verify electrical, mechanical, structural, and civil installation activities across multiple disciplines.

  • You will inspect electrical equipment installations including transformers, breakers, panels, cable terminations, grounding systems, and bonding installations to confirm compliance with project requirements.

  • You will verify structural components, foundations, supports, rebar placement, concrete pours, soil compaction, and helical pile installations for accuracy and quality compliance.

  • You will ensure all installations are performed in accordance with approved IFC drawings, engineering specifications, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), approved method statements, and installation procedures.

  • You will validate that workmanship standards, installation tolerances, and acceptance criteria are achieved prior to advancing construction activities to subsequent phases.

  • You will identify inconsistencies, deficiencies, and quality risks early in the construction process to prevent downstream impacts and support successful commissioning activities.

  • You will enforce compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations including NEC/NFPA 70, IEEE standards, NEMA standards, OSHA requirements, utility requirements, and project-specific specifications.

  • You will serve as a subject matter resource for quality and code compliance, ensuring all installations meet functional, regulatory, and safety requirements.

  • You will proactively identify, document, track, and escalate non-conformances, deviations, and quality-related concerns while ensuring timely resolution and corrective action implementation.

  • You will prepare, complete, and maintain detailed quality documentation including inspection reports, quality checklists, punch lists, deficiency reports, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).

  • You will review and validate QA/QC turnover documentation packages to support commissioning readiness, system turnover, and final client acceptance.

  • You will coordinate closely with construction supervisors, field personnel, engineering teams, client representatives, and third-party inspectors to align project quality expectations and execution.

  • You will provide real-time field guidance and technical clarification to installation teams to ensure quality standards and installation requirements are consistently understood and applied.

  • You will participate in site meetings, quality reviews, inspections, and project progress discussions to communicate quality performance, project risks, and resolution strategies.

  • You will prepare inspection work packs, organize drawings and documentation, and ensure inspection readiness to support efficient execution of scheduled inspections and approvals.

Who you are?

  • You have a bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of technical training and field experience.

  • You have Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification through ASQ preferred.

  • You have OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.

  • You have NICET certification in Electrical Power Testing or Construction preferred.

  • You have 8+ years of progressive experience within civil and/or electrical construction environments focused on substation, utility-scale, power generation, transmission, or utility infrastructure projects.

  • You have proven experience supporting QA/QC inspection activities within high-voltage (HV) and medium-voltage (MV) systems and utility environments.

  • You have strong working knowledge of electrical systems, substation equipment, installation methodologies, and construction sequencing across multiple disciplines.

  • You have the ability to interpret complex drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation with a high degree of accuracy.

  • You have demonstrated experience with QA/QC programs, inspection protocols, testing procedures, and documentation management throughout the full project lifecycle from construction through turnover.

  • You have exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality excellence, safety, compliance, and operational integrity.

  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to proactively identify, investigate, and resolve issues before escalation.

  • You have excellent written documentation, reporting, communication, and organizational skills.
