Start Your Career in Environmental Data Science

See how you can combine tech and sustainability to build a career in environmental data science at AtkinsRéalis Peru.

I'm growing my career where technology meets sustainability: here's how AtkinsRéalis made it possible.

Hi, I'm Sebastian – an environmental engineer from the National University of Engineering (UNI) in Peru. At AtkinsRéalis, I found the perfect place to bring together two things I care deeply about: protecting the environment and using technology to solve real problems.

Sebastian

Work on real projects from day one

I joined the company as an intern in April 2024 after spotting the opportunity on LinkedIn. The culture of collaboration and the trust placed in young professionals made the difference. From day one, I felt supported and guided – applying my knowledge to real projects and developing tools in Python and Excel to optimize processes in the Water Quality team. My ideas were heard, and I was able to bring real value to the team.

Be part of a culture that values your ideas

Today, I work as a Junior Environmental Specialist as part of our pioneering Environmental Data Science team. I help build tools that automate core processes and speed up environmental studies. The solutions we create help analyze water quality data faster and more accurately – and they're already being used on many of our active projects.

Learn from experienced professionals

What really sets AtkinsRéalis apart is more than just technical excellence. I've found a culture that trusts early-career professionals, encourages learning, and supports people in proposing and testing new ideas. I always had the impression that it was an organization with high professional standards. Now, after more than a year here, I can confirm that, in addition to technical excellence, there is also a strong emphasis on learning, teamwork, and innovation.

Use technology and data to drive sustainability

Looking ahead, I want to keep growing in the Environmental Data Science space and one day lead projects where technology and sustainability come together to shape better environmental solutions. I'm convinced that the work we're developing and pioneering in the environmental consulting sector in Peru, will have a positive impact on our planet and on my career and the growth of our team.
