What does it take to deliver safer, smarter highways as a graduate engineer?

Hello, my name is Yuxiang, I graduated in 2023 from the University of Sheffield with a degree in MEng Civil Engineering. Today, I'm a Graduate Civil Engineer on the Transportation, Highways Infrastructure team at AtkinsRéalis. I manage project delivery for a highways construction and renewal project in the East of England. I'm gaining brilliant experience liaising directly with the client and contractors in this role.

What has been your favorite experience on the program?

One of my career highlights was managing highway asbestos risk using digital tools like QGIS and Civil 3D. These help create detailed maps, analyze geographic data, and model civil infrastructure in 3D to support safer and more efficient project planning.

Since then, AtkinsRéalis' Graduate Development Program has provided exemplary training, laying a strong foundation for my career.
