Behind every major project are people working quietly in the background to keep operations running smoothly. For Mohamed, that means coordinating administrative activities, supporting project teams, managing documentation, and ensuring communication flows efficiently between departments, contractors, and management.

My focus is on making sure things are completed accurately and on time,
he says. Colleagues describe him as dependable, organized, and approachable, someone who can be relied upon to support the team and help resolve challenges calmly and efficiently.
A career built on experience
His career journey began in 2006 in document control, laying the foundation for nearly two decades of experience in project administration and coordination. Over the years, he progressed from Document Controller to Senior Document Controller, Project Administrator, Senior Project Administrator, and eventually Lead Project Administrator. Along the way, he witnessed one of the biggest transformations in the industry: the move from paper‑based document control to fully digital project management systems.
From paper to digital
On projects such as Kempinski Residences, Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Creek Residences, records were managed almost entirely through hard‑copy systems, requiring meticulous filing, tracking, and archiving. During his time at Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, he experienced the industry's shift toward digital project management through Aconex, one of the early Electronic Document and Project Management platforms. One of the biggest changes I've seen is the move from hard‑copy documents to fully digital systems,
he says. It has transformed the way projects manage information and collaborate.
Keeping a remote project moving
When he joined the Red Sea Project in 2020, he brought with him not only years of experience but also a deep understanding of how effective information management supports project success.
Working in a remote location presents unique challenges, particularly in logistics. With the nearest major airport located hundreds of kilometres from the site, careful planning and coordination are essential to ensure people and materials arrive where they need to be. By working closely with logistics teams, suppliers, and project stakeholders, Mohamed helps minimise disruptions and keep operations running smoothly. It's all about preparation and coordination,
he says. When everyone works together and plans, challenges become much easier to manage.
Making every detail count
For Mohamed, success is often found in the details. Whether coordinating travel, maintaining project records, or ensuring the team has access to accurate information, his work helps create the conditions for others to do their jobs effectively.
Finding community on site

Beyond the professional experience, Mohamed also found a sense of community in the remote project environment. From sports activities and gym sessions to social gatherings with colleagues, the project has become more than just a workplace.
Staying adaptable
After nearly 20 years in the profession, his advice is to stay organized, communicate effectively, and always follow up. For Mohamed, success has always been about finding solutions and identifying the best way forward, regardless of the challenge. Whether navigating unfamiliar roads on his first journey to the Red Sea or supporting teams through complex project demands, his approach remains the same: stay focused, adapt, and keep moving forward.
