Overview

As part of our Engineering Services group, the Airports team delivers innovative planning, design, and engineering solutions for a wide range of airport and heliport projects — from runway extensions and apron expansions to complex airside rehabilitation programs.
We are looking for an Intermediate to Senior Civil Engineer, Airports to support our growing portfolio in Alberta. In this role, you will help drive impactful engineering work that enhances airport safety, efficiency, and long‑term performance while collaborating with experienced professionals committed to excellence and innovation.
Your role
Act as a civil designer and/or Project Manager for airfield infrastructure projects, applying advanced civil engineering principles to runways, taxiways, aprons, service roads, site servicing, grading, earthworks, and stormwater management.
Oversee the development of figures, design drawings, specifications, calculations, cost analyses, quantity take‑offs, technical reports, and design briefs.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Transport Canada, ICAO, and FAA standards and apply them proactively throughout design work.
Apply Civil 3D and AviPLAN tools to support civil layout, modelling, and airside planning activities.
Provide engineering support during construction, including the review of shop drawings, preparation of progress records, field observations, and assessment of quality control results.
Use FAA FAARFIELD and Transport Canada pavement design methodologies to design and evaluate pavement structures.
Contribute to preparation of specifications, Plan of Construction Operations (PCOs), and Land Use Applications, and author technical reports and related documentation.
Support project management, proposal development, business development initiatives, and client relationship growth.

About you
Hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and be registered as a P.Eng in at least one Canadian province, with the ability to obtain registration in others as needed.
Demonstrate a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in civil airfield engineering, project engineering, or project management; experience in highway or municipal design is considered an asset.
Use AutoCAD, MS Office, and FAARFIELD software proficiently; knowledge of PAVER is an asset.
Apply standards including TP312, FAA, and ICAO in engineering analysis and design.
Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing; French proficiency is an asset.
