Overview
We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all financial operations for a major highway Operations, Maintenance, and Rehabilitation (OMR) project in New Brunswick. This role is responsible for financial integrity, reporting, compliance, and strategic support to project leadership. Position reports to the Senior Director, Finance for AtkinsRéalis Operations and Maintenance Inc.
Your role
- Ensure all financial reporting is completed in accordance with established Internal Controls for Financial Reporting (ICFR) / NI 52-109.
- Prepare all month-end / year-end reports for submission to consolidation group.
- Ensure CEO/CFO certification requirements are met.
- Manage fixed assets, leased assets, inventories, prepaid expenses, short and long term liabilities.
- Develop budgets/forecasts, complete variance analysis, cash flow and financial analysis
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, internal controls, and audit requirements. Respond to auditor sample requests and ensure documentation supports tested controls.
- Ensure operations staff comply with finance and procurement policies.
- Manage/optimize accounts payable, vendor payments, and banking activities
- Support operational decision‑making with timely financial information.
- Liaise with client representatives, government agencies, and internal partners.
- Ensure continuous access to key commodities such as fuel and salt. Audit all salt and fuel purchases.
- Manage contractual obligations for Economic Industrial Benefits and Aboriginal Inclusion programs

About you
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation preferred, either completed or in progress.
- Experience in financial leadership, compliance, and reporting
- Experience in accounting for publicly traded entities will be considered an asset.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products is necessary.
- Experience with JD Edwards, Foxit PDF Editor, PowerBi, Blackline would all be an advantage.
