Overview
We are seeking a qualified Materials Inspector to join our team on a major roads and infrastructure project in Riyadh. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, sampling, testing, and verifying construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. This role plays a critical part in supporting quality assurance across all site activities related to pavement works, earthworks, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and other civil materials.
Your role
Materials Inspection & Verification
- Inspect and verify materials delivered to site, ensuring compliance with approved material submittals and specifications.
- Conduct field checks on aggregates, asphalt, concrete, soils, and other construction materials.
- Ensure that materials conform to ASTM, AASHTO, BS, and project-specific standards.
Sampling & Testing
- Coordinate and witness sampling and laboratory testing of materials through approved third-party laboratories.
- Review and validate test reports for compliance with quality requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation of test results and inspection records.
Site Monitoring
- Monitor construction activities including earthworks, subbase, basecourse placement, asphalt paving, concrete works, and drainage materials.
- Ensure that all materials used align with approved specifications and quality procedures.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily materials inspection reports, NCRs, and non-compliance observations when required.
- Maintain accurate logs of materials deliveries, testing schedules, and approvals.
- Provide regular updates to the Materials Engineer and Quality Manager.
Coordination & Compliance
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and laboratory personnel to ensure timely testing and approval of materials.
- Ensure adherence to project quality plans, ITPs, and inspection procedures.
- Participate in QA/QC meetings and highlight material-related issues.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Ensure all inspection and testing activities are performed in compliance with site HSE regulations.
- Report unsafe practices or non-compliant materials immediately.

About you
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a Materials Inspector in large-scale road or infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience in GCC, preferably KSA, is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of road construction materials and testing procedures.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, BS, SASO standards.
- Experience in asphalt, concrete, soils, aggregate, and pavement material testing.
- Familiarity with laboratory processes and equipment.
- Proficiency in report writing and documentation.
Soft Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high‑pressure mega‑project environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in materials testing (e.g., ACI, Asphalt Technician, Soil & Aggregates Certification).
- Experience working with international consultants or Tier‑1 contractors.
- Previous involvement in mega roads, highways, or infrastructure projects.
