Overview

The Project Financial Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial performance of engineering projects from initiation to closeout. This role ensures accurate budgeting, forecasting, cost control, revenue recognition, and financial reporting. The position partners closely with project managers, engineering leads, and senior leadership to drive financial discipline, improve profitability, and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Your role

Project Financial Planning & Budgeting

  • Develop detailed project budgets aligned with scope, schedules, and resource plans.
  • Support bid/proposal teams with cost estimates, pricing models, and financial risk assessments.
  • Establish financial baselines and define key performance indicators (KPIs).

Cost Control & Monitoring

  • Track and analyze project costs, labor utilization, subcontractor spend, and material expenses.
  • Implement cost-control measures to ensure adherence to financial targets.
  • Identify cost deviations early and recommend corrective actions.
  • Familiar with OneERP tools like OTL, ODW and KOFAX.

Forecasting & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual project financial forecasts.
  • Provide variance analysis (budget vs. actuals) with insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare financial dashboards and reports for leadership review.
  • Knowledge in Ecosys.

Revenue Management

  • Ensure timely and accurate revenue recognition in compliance with applicable client approved standards
  • Validate project billing schedules and ensure timely invoice submission. (via iBEX)
  • Track collections and escalating risks impacting cash flow.

Risk & Compliance

  • Evaluate financial risks across project timelines, resourcing, contract terms, and change orders.
  • Maintain compliance with corporate financial policies, audit requirements, and statutory regulations.
  • Support internal and external audits with required project financial documentation.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with project managers, engineering teams, procurement, and finance to drive financial performance.
  • Participate in project review meetings and provide financial guidance.
  • Communicate financial risks, opportunities, and status updates to leadership.

Process Improvement

  • Recommend and implement improvements to project financial management processes, tools, and systems.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives (e.g., ERP upgrades, automation, dashboards).

About you

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering Management, or related field.
  • MBA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in project financial management, project accounting, or cost control.
  • Prior experience in an engineering services, EPC, construction, infrastructure, or technical consulting environment within KSA.
  • Hands‑on experience with project-based financial systems (i.e. OneERP - OTL, ODW, KOFAX, Concur, Ecosys).

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of project accounting principles and cost management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition methods.
  • Familiarity with engineering project lifecycles and multidisciplinary project structures.

Behavioral Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
