Overview

The Requirements SME is responsible for leading and managing the development, analysis, validation, and traceability of system and project requirements. This role ensures that all stakeholder needs are accurately captured, clearly defined, and effectively integrated into the system design and verification processes.

Your role

  • Serve as the primary authority on requirements management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality system, functional, and interface requirements.
  • Facilitate requirements elicitation workshops with stakeholders, customers, and technical teams.
  • Ensure traceability of requirements from stakeholder needs through to design, implementation, and verification.
  • Use requirements management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS, Polarion) to document and track requirements.
  • Perform requirements analysis to identify gaps, conflicts, and dependencies.
  • Support change control processes and impact assessments for requirement modifications.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, designers, testers, and quality teams to ensure requirements are understood and met.
  • Contribute to the development of verification and validation plans and test cases.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 15288, INCOSE, IEEE).

About you

  • Bachelor'S or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in requirements engineering or systems engineering roles.
  • Strong knowledge of requirements management principles, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., rail, aerospace, defense, automotive).
  • Familiarity with systems engineering lifecycle models (e.g., V-model, Agile, Waterfall).
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • INCOSE CSEP or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
  • Knowledge of safety-critical systems and standards (e.g., EN 50126/8/9, ARP4754, ISO 26262).
  • Proficiency in tools like IBM DOORS, ReqIF, or similar.

Work Environment:

  • Office-based with potential travel to client site.
  • Collaborative, cross-functional team environment with a focus on quality and compliance.
