We are seeking an experienced Senior Waste Management and Circular Economy Consultant to join our India team. This role will support the delivery of strategic advisory and technical solutions for buildings, masterplans, mixed-use developments, and large-scale community projects.
The role focuses on embedding circular economy principles and advancing sustainable waste management strategies across the full project lifecycle. It requires strong technical capability in waste characterisation, systems design, infrastructure planning, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability certification integration.
Your role
- Systems and infrastructure design: Design waste systems and infrastructure, including space planning, logistics modelling, operational workflows, collection systems, segregation areas, and processing facilities.
- Circular design integration: Embed material efficiency, design for disassembly, reuse potential, adaptability, lifecycle thinking, and waste minimisation into building and masterplan design.
- Spatial planning and coordination: Assess waste system requirements at building and city scales, ensuring coordination with architecture, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP), infrastructure, environmental, and cost consultant teams.
- Frameworks and technical guidance: Lead the development of circular economy frameworks, guidance, and toolkits aligned with international best practice, including ISO 20887, ISO 59004/59010, BS 8001, and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation framework.
- Project requirements: Define clear design and technical requirements for circularity and embed them into project briefs, specifications, and delivery documentation.
- Waste audits and characterisation: Prepare and conduct remote waste audits and characterisation studies using industry-standard methodologies, including waste composition analysis, generation forecasting, and infrastructure capacity planning.
- Forecasting and analysis: Develop waste forecasting models to project waste volumes, composition, infrastructure requirements, operational needs, and lifecycle costs.
- Tools, templates, and supplier intelligence: Establish and maintain a Middle East supplier and technology database, and standardise method statements, templates, and technical specifications for consistent deployment across projects.
- Strategy and advisory: Lead the development of waste management and circular economy strategies for buildings, masterplans, and community-scale developments, translating circular economy principles into practical, implementable solutions.
- Integrated waste planning: Develop strategies covering waste minimisation, source segregation, recycling, recovery, and treatment options, aligned with Middle East regional regulations and global best practice.
- Client engagement and thought leadership: Engage with clients and stakeholders, translate technical concepts into clear recommendations, and provide insight on emerging waste and circular economy practices.
- Business development and team leadership: Support proposals, case studies, and client presentations, while providing task leadership, direction, and mentorship to junior team members.
