Hi! I'm Alina, an associate director specialized in transport infrastructure engineering. I lead the North-West Estimating team in Project & Programme Services here in Manchester. Over the past ten years, I've worked across several European countries, building a track record in delivering projects and showing how engineering connects science and society. After years of working as a civil engineer in Romania - transitioning from project management on-site to winning work and thriving in the contractor's world - I took on the challenge of moving to the UK, where I now work in cost engineering and estimating for consultancies.
I believe that if you dream big and follow your dreams, you can discover your full potential. By the end of 2021, I knew I needed a new challenge and a significant change. And that's why I chose AtkinsRéalis.
Roles, clients, and sectors I've worked on, that I'm most proud of
My career is centered around transport infrastructure engineering. I've worked across civil engineering, highways, rail, and water sectors, collaborating with regulatory bodies and governmental authorities. I'm incredibly proud of my current role, providing strategic cost advice and leadership support on Europe's largest multi-billion-pound programme, High Speed Two.
Balancing work and life with flexible working at AtkinsRéalis

For me, 'home' also means being able to work from Romania and spend more time with family and friends. Thanks to the company's remote holiday policy, I can even work abroad for up to 20 days, allowing me to deliver for my clients while enjoying valuable time with loved ones.
