Hello! My name is Wannacha, and I joined AtkinsRéalis in Seoul in early 2024 as a process engineer. I'm proud to bring a unique blend of technical expertise and my own cultural insight, and I feel I'm thriving here, personally and professionally.

I'm already making a difference!

I've also been involved in three major projects so far! The most notable is the STA Singapore Phase 1 Project, where we are designing an API manufacturing plant. As a process engineer, my responsibilities include developing management plans for deliverables, creating HAZOP documentation, designing process document formats, assisting with MTO documents, and coordinating team support. This memorable and challenging experience has been great for my professional growth.

I've also helped establish task force meetings where employees join groups focused on specific topics. I'm part of the Net Zero and sustainability task force, brainstorming and implementing initiatives with members from various departments. Each discipline discusses its contributions to sustainability. As a process engineer, I've led discussions to generate ideas and strategies for sustainability challenges.

Getting to know my team at AtkinsRéalis

Although I've lived in Korea for over a decade and am no stranger to Korean culture, working in a large international organization is still new to me. My teammates are incredibly agile and active, comfortable reaching out and getting to know each other. We communicate effectively in English, which is rare in Korea. They've been very helpful. Since my first week, I've had meetings with our line manager or higher directors who want to check in on how things have been going.

It's easy to thrive in a supportive workplace

I'm a fast learner, so whenever I have the time, I browse through available documents, particularly from previous similar projects and their deliverables. However, if I have questions or get stuck, I don't hesitate to reach out for help. Since joining AtkinsRéalis, I've had ample access to professionals. We have a large process team here, so I can always find someone to ask for guidance. This access has been invaluable for my learning and development.

We have a culture of continuous learning

Over the past few weeks, we've managed team training around everyone's availability. Despite busy schedules, team members organize valuable sessions whenever possible. For instance, my line manager arranged a helpful hydraulic training last week, demonstrating calculation sheets, fabrication techniques, and material access methods and recommending task-specific references. This resourcefulness has been really beneficial.

What I enjoy most about work/life at AtkinsRéalis

I appreciate how AtkinsRéalis encourages connections through creative avenues. We have active clubs like the Bowling Club and other activities for everyone to participate in. These clubs are valuable for meeting people across different departments, roles, and disciplines, especially as our team grows.

Step out of your comfort zone!

Before joining AtkinsRéalis, I was happy in my comfort zone. Taking the initiative to join AtkinsRéalis was a significant step, and it has been truly worthwhile. I've experienced personal and professional growth every day since. If you want to grow and become a better person, I can confidently say that AtkinsRéalis is worth stepping outside your comfort zone for.
