Haseeb Abbasi

I'm Haseeb Abbasi, a Graduate Engineer in the Railway Signalling team, which falls under Transportation. We design systems that control railroad traffic, including equipment on tracks, computer networks and safeguards, to make our journeys safer, more punctual, fast and climate-neutral.

What has been your favourite experience?

Leading the initial scope of a training room, which will be used to train signal operators. Aside from my day-to-day role, organizing a project called Social Value Week to help the local community where we work was very rewarding.

What are the best things about working #InsideAtkinsRéalis?

I value the opportunity to move around my business unit the most. It allows me to experience a wide variety of work while learning from colleagues and gaining a broader understanding of how we carry out our projects.

What's your best piece of advice for new graduates?

Grab as many opportunities as possible on the graduate scheme, as this is a unique time to learn more about what you enjoy and what is important to you at work.

What do you enjoy most about our flexible working culture?

I'm fortunate to have a flexible working pattern, which means I can work from home, the office, or on a project site if needed. This gives me a lot of real-world exposure and networking opportunities, allowing me to balance my work and social life.
