Meet an apprentice consultant building a transformative career

Working at AtkinsRéalis : Making my impact

My name is Millie and I joined AtkinsRéalis, in September 2022 as a Degree Apprentice in the Aerospace, Defence, Security, and Technology team. What drew me to AtkinsRéalis ? The chance to be part of something bigger: working on varied projects, contributing to society, and making a positive mark on our environment.

Flexibility that supports success

At AtkinsRéalis , our work-life balance is genuinely respected. With two days in the Bristol office and three days from home, including university studies, the flexibility allows me to thrive in both my professional and educational life. Regular trips to London with other apprentices, graduates, and placement students are great for building professional friendships and offering new perspectives.

Nurturing skills: Inside the consulting apprentice role

In my role, I support the training and development manager, liaising with senior stakeholders and working across various business areas. Organization and time management are paramount, ensuring everything from monthly Line Manager calls to PowerPoint presentations is executed flawlessly. I've even introduced innovations like 'line manager of the month' awards, elevating employee satisfaction.

Beyond the job: Community, wellness, and innovation

My journey extends beyond my primary role. From leading the Social Value Apprentice Challenge to being a Wellbeing Champion, AtkinsRéalis encourages me to engage in initiatives that enrich the workplace and personal growth. Collaborating on the core consultancy skills framework (CCSF) has expanded my understanding of best practices in consulting.
