We are seeking Assistant Designer's Site Representatives Roads based in Cork. The candidate must have extensive experience in the execution and supervision of large civil engineering projects, including major highway schemes. The candidate must be self motivated, enthusiastic, hard working, flexible, collaborative, willing to take on responsibility and with excellent communication skills. The roles will be part of the AtkinsRéalis site based team, and will involve building relationships with the construction contractor and the local authority employer and their representatives.
The Assistant Designer's Site Representatives Roads will ensure the construction complies with the provisions of the Construction Requirements and the other applicable provisions of the contract.
Your role
- Co-ordinate between the Contractor and the design team in matters related to construction and design issues and carry out the Designer's Site Representative duties in relation to drainage, earthworks, pavements and all other roadworks elements.
- Carry out duties of the Designer's Site Representative including, but not limited to: supervising and witnessing construction operations; inspecting the works; raising and closing out Non-Conformance Reports; and establishing and managing systems for receiving and answering Technical Queries, Requests for Information and Material Approval Requests received from the contractor directly or after consultation with the design team.
- Undertake quantification of construction work completed to support the contractor in carbon reporting requirements.
- Work with the contractor and employer to ensure the construction is completed in compliance with all applicable health and safety and environmental regulations, contract requirements and best practice.

About you
- Bachelors (Level 8) or Masters (Level 9) Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent discipline.
- Extensive experience of supervising construction major highway projects including drainage, earthworks, pavements and all other roadworks elements as Designer's Site Representative or Resident Engineer for contractor or public sector clients.
- Demonstrable experience of managing quality assurance on highways and other infrastructure projects.
- Ability to communicate and engage with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in NEC or other collaborative forms of contract is preferred.
