Assistant Electrical Engineer

Bangalore, Karnātaka, India

Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our UK Buildings and Places team, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for UK Projects and associated infrastructure. The role involves design and coordination across UK projects, with additional exposure to Canadian and Middle Eastern markets.

Your role

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; Previous electrical engineering or design role within consultancy, Experience of infrastructure projects with recent UK experience is preferred.
  • Relevant and appropriate experience of 0 to 3 years as an electrical engineer within building services
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience of the use of CIBSE, BS7671, BS 50122, BS5266 and BS5839. Undertake Electrical design to local and international standards, including ME is added advantage.
  • Carry out Electrical calculations using Dialux, Amtech, Relux, Specsizer and other equivalent software.
  • Utilize tools such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, BIM 360 Or Bentley equivalent for reviewing models and generating schematics.
  • Undertake design of a variety of electrical design elements i.e. LV Distribution, Earthing & Bonding, Lighting, Cable management system and Building power designs.
  • Coordinate with MEP teams to ensure integrated design solutions considering buildability and operational requirements.
  • Prepare design reports, specifications, and respond to technical queries.
  • Support multi‑region projects, adapting designs to Canadian and Middle Eastern codes and climatic conditions.
  • Assist the Team leader/Senior Engineer in presenting design solutions in meeting with clients and contractors.
  • Coordinate with all other disciplines and improve inter-discipline working with other disciplines such as Architecture, Civil and Structural.
  • Proactive and Member of IET or CIBSE and working towards CEng / IEng status would be preferred.
