Overview

We are seeking an Environmental Consultant to join our growing team in this role in AtkinsRéalis Global Technology Centre (GTC); you will collaborate with multidisciplinary technical specialists and contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects.

Your role

  • Support the preparation and delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), screening/scoping reports, and environmental statements.
  • Assist in environmental planning and consenting activities, including evidence gathering, baseline studies, and policy review.
  • Prepare technical sections such as Land Use, Socioeconomics, Environmental Management, and Sustainability.
  • Conduct desktop research, data analysis, GIS mapping support, and preparation of constraints plans.
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines (ecology, transport, utilities, planning, air quality, etc.) to compile environmental inputs.
  • Support the development and implementation of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and environmental mitigation measures.
  • Draft high-quality technical reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
  • Assist senior consultants in project management tasks—programme tracking, documentation, QA/QC, and reporting.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders professionally when required.

Postgraduate degree qualified in an environmental or related discipline.

  • 4+ years' experience in leading and coordinating planning and environmental consenting, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) processes and the implementation of Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
  • Passionate, proactive, and enthusiastic about environmental sustainability.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work under pressure, and maintain technical excellence.
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Experience using digital and spatial tools, including ArcGIS, QGIS, Power BI, and spatial modelling platforms.
