Intermediate Railway Engineer

Overview

Our global rail expertise spans the entire lifecycle of rail infrastructure—from designing and building heavy rail and light rail networks, to providing annual and seasonal maintenance during operations, and delivering rehabilitation or construction services in a cost-effective and timely manner.

We are looking for a Railway Design Engineer to join our team in Montréal Office. As part of the Public Transport and Rail team, you will play an active role in delivering rail projects. Reporting to the Track Systems Product Line Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the design group in preparing rail alignments, producing CAD drawings, and ensuring compliance of all plans and drawings.

Votre rôle

  • Contribute to the design process based on concepts and preliminary calculations;

  • Perform 3D modeling using CAD software for railway projects;

  • Participate in the preparation of plans, drawings, and technical specifications for railway track projects, ensuring compliance with applicable standards;

  • Conduct technical evaluations of market products to identify those that best meet project requirements;

  • Support project teams in developing detailed estimates for civil and railway works, as well as in tracking schedules and progress;

  • Analyze survey data and produce detailed 3D surface models;

  • Monitor and oversee construction activities on-site, including contractor schedule tracking.

About you

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and is registered as a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);

  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in rail infrastructure (heavy or light rail);

  • Possess strong knowledge of AREMA (American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association) standards and recommended practices;

  • Have general knowledge of hydrology and its impact on rail corridors modeled in 3D using route design software;

  • Demonstrate autonomy and the ability to manage priorities in a multitasking environment;

  • Be able to communicate fluently in French and English (spoken and written)*.
