Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Transport Engineer to join our Traffic Engineering and Strategic Advisory Business Unit in the Middle East. The ideal candidate will be a degree-qualified professional with 12–15 years of experience in transport planning and traffic engineering within the Middle East, bringing strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities.
Your role
- Lead and deliver transport planning and traffic engineering projects from concept through to execution.
- Oversee the design, analysis, and optimization of traffic systems, including signals, signage, and roadway networks.
- Conduct and review traffic impact studies, simulations, and data analysis to improve system efficiency and safety.
- Develop and implement transport strategies, traffic management plans, and policies aligned with client and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including urban planners, engineers, contractors, and government authorities.
- Ensure compliance with regional traffic regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and deliverables effectively.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers and team members.
- Stay updated with advancements in smart mobility solutions, ITS, and sustainable transportation systems.

About you
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor'S or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 12–15 years of experience in traffic engineering and transport planning, preferably within the Middle East.
- Proven track record in leading complex and large-scale transportation projects.
- Strong expertise in traffic modeling tools such as Aimsun, VISSIM, Synchro, or similar.
- In-depth understanding of traffic regulations, safety standards, and regional frameworks.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Experience in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), smart mobility, and sustainable transport initiatives.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
- Positive attitude with a focus on team collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Excellent presentation and reporting skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to self-review and ensure quality work.
- A proactive team player with leadership qualities.
