Railway Infrastructure Specialist

Our global railway experience spans the entire infrastructure lifecycle—from designing and building heavy and light rail networks, to providing ongoing maintenance during operations on an annual and seasonal basis, as well as delivering rehabilitation and construction services cost-effectively and on schedule.

Your Role

As part of the Public Transit, Railway, and Telecommunications Systems team, you will actively contribute to the delivery of railway projects. You will support the design group in preparing railway alignments, producing CAD drawings, and ensuring compliance of drawings, plans, and specifications.

Reporting to the Railway Infrastructure Product Line Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and coordinating members of a technical team to deliver projects

  • Preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for railway track projects

  • Being responsible for project design

  • Acting as a railway expert and contributing to team knowledge development

  • Conducting technical evaluations of market products best suited to project needs

  • Serving as the point of contact with suppliers, operators, and maintenance teams

  • Managing and leading technical documentation with engineers and technicians

  • Participating in project meetings

  • Supporting project teams in developing cost estimates specific to civil and railway works

  • Ensuring compliance of drawings and plans

  • Coordinating production activities of the railway infrastructure team, including engineering subcontractors

  • Collaborating with the director to resolve technical issues

  • Reviewing the detailed project schedule and contributing to its adherence and updates

  • Developing schedules for activities under your responsibility

  • Participating in monitoring execution, deliverable quality, cost and schedule management, team coordination, business risks, and communications (internal and external)

  • Contributing to the preparation of proposals

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec

  • 15 to 25 years of experience in railway infrastructure (heavy or light rail)

  • Broad and in-depth knowledge of railway activities

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work

  • Self-driven and able to manage priorities in a multitasking environment

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (required)

  • Ability to interact positively in a multicultural environment

  • Strong knowledge of AREMA (American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association) and its recommended practices

  • Solid understanding of industry railway practices

  • Knowledge of AutoDESK Civil 3D, Bentley Power RailTrack, and experience in railway engineering—particularly alignment design—will be considered a strong asset

  • Ability to communicate in both French and English (spoken and written)
