Overview
We are looking for a Senior Hydraulic & Hydrology Engineer to join a Canadian-wide team dedicated to hydrological and hydraulic studies, for hydroelectric and environmental projects. As such, you will be involved in a multidisciplinary team in the realization of projects ranging from feasibility studies to construction.
Your role
The selected person will have to carry out, work in a team and/or supervise various types of studies in the fields of hydraulics and hydrology, such as:
- Dam safety studies and dam failure analysis.
- Flood studies and climate change adaptation measures.
- Hydrodynamic analyses with 1D, 2D and 3D simulation tools.
- Hydrological studies (hydrological modeling, statistical floods, probable maximum precipitation and probable maximum floods, flood routing).
- Design and assessment of hydraulic structures (spillways, weirs, stilling basins, water intakes, penstocks, channels, temporary diversions, tunnels, fish passes, bridges, culverts, ...).
- Wave studies and erosion protection.
The selected person could also be called to:
- Write and review bid documents.
- Act as a project manager on single-discipline projects.

About you
- B.A.Sc. in civil engineering, M.Eng. or M.A.Sc. in hydraulics or hydrology, an asset.
- 15 to 30 years of experience as a Hydrological/ Hydraulic Engineer.
- Experience in dam safety studies in BC, in Probable Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMA), an asset.
- Knowledge of one or more HEC models (e.g. HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-RESSIM).
- Knowledge of one or more 2D and 3D models (e.g. FLOW-3D, Telemac, SOBEK, HEC-RAS 2D, Delft 3D).
- Member in good standing of Engineers and Geoscientists BC (or be eligible to become one).
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Expected compensation for this role is between $114,800 - $157,900 annually . Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
